Transfiguration Sunday at First Congregational Church in West B
WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Feb. 10 is Transfiguration Sunday at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 880 Western Avenue in West Brattleboro. Rev. Joseph Amico’s sermon will be "Do You Have That Glow?" based on Exodus 34:29-35, which describes when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the Ten Commandments. Pianist William McKim’s Prelude will be "Saraband in G Minor" by Handel and Postlude "Toccata (excerpts)" by Debussy. The senior choir will sing "I Will Sing of Thy Mercies, O Lord" by Carlton Young. Congregational hymns will be "Glorious Things of You Are Spoken", "We Have Come at Christ’s Own Bidding" and "This Little Light of Mine." Guitarist Jeff Brewer will play Gathering Music.
Sunday worship at First Congregational is at 10 a.m. During January, February and part of March, worship will be in the church’s Fireplace Room. During the worship hour, there is Sunday School for pre-school - grade 6, and child care for younger children. Following worship there is a Fellowship Hour in the Fireplace Room. For those with disabilities, there is a ramp leading to the Fireplace Room level, as well as large-print hymnals and bulletins. For a ride to worship call 802-257-4408.
On Feb. 13, Ash Wednesday, Centre Church will worship at 7 p.m.
