Tri-State lifeguard candidates finish their training for Open Water

Posted

SPOFFORD, N.H. -- Beverly Current and Beverly Wright recently trained Tri-State lifeguard candidates for "Open Water" at Wares Grove.

Each of these candidates had completed their "4 Wall" training for local recreation centers, camps and clubs, but they had another challenge ahead of them. With local pardons looking on, these new guards were to learn how to search for submerged victims, pull a distressed swimmer onto a long board and how to save a passive drowning victim.

These trainings are held in May and June each year and re-certifications over the Memorial Day Weekend at the Colonial and Vernon pools and Wares Grove Beach by local swim/lifeguard instructors Current and Wright.
