Trucks hit with rocks in Wilmington
WILMINGTON — Police say there were two incidents involving rocks being thrown at trucks.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Wilmington Police Department," said Police Chief Joe Szarejko.
Truck driver Justin Howe told the Reformer he was making a trip through town on Monday when a rock came through his windshield and landed on the dashboard. He was nearing the Route 9 and Route 100 South junction at the time. He sent over photographs of the damage and the rock.
"My windshield is a thicker brand and the rock came right through it," he said. "I was going 50 miles per hour."
Howe travels five nights a week using Route 9 in Wilmington to get to Albany, N.Y. He heard of a similar incident and said he believes a potato launcher or slingshot is being used.
The police department can be reached at 802-464-8593.
