Twin Valley girls deny Woodstock

WHITINGHAM — Tayler Courchesne had a dozen points, 10 rebounds and seven steals to lead the Twin Valley varsity girls basketball team to a 27-20 win over Woodstock.

"Our defense bailed us out big time," said Twin Valley coach Buddy Hayford, whose team took a 17-13 advantage to the intermission. "We showed good composure in the fourth to pull away."

Kirra Courchesne finished with eight points for the 2-1 Wildcats. Kendell Howe chipped in with five points and seven boards.

Mariah Luce netted nine points to pace the Wasps.

Men's Rec Basketball

BRATTLEBORO >> In Wednesday's action at the Gibson-Aiken Center, Walker Farm took care of Al's Towing 73-69 and Green Mountain Creamery creamed Vermont Pressure Wash Painting 80-69.

Nate Williams and Nick Lalanne paced the farmers with 30 and 23 points respectively. Robert Rea and Ryan McClelland each finished with 13 points for Al's.

Four different players scored in double figures for GMC, led by Alex Wright's 20 points. Brandon Clark (16 points), Owen Blake (15) and Elliott Corballo (12) were also in a zone.
