Two services planned in Newfane to accommodate Heritage Festival workers

NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will hold two services on Sunday, Oct. 7. The first service at 8:30 a.m. will be a short prayer service led by the Rev. Chris Petrak to accommodate those who will be working at the Heritage Festival.

The regular worship service at 10 a.m. will be a service of hymns and prayer led by the Rev. Robert Hamm. Hymns to be sung at this service are "For the Beauty of the Earth," "Let All Things Now Living," "Open My Eyes, That I May See" and "Praise the Lord! O Heavens, Adore Him." The prelude will be "In This Holy Place" and the postlude "Festal Hymn," both played by organist Martha LaMoria. There is no Sunday school this week.

Events for the week include Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; Sew Whats at 5 p.m. on Tuesday; Handbell rehearsal at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday; Senior luncheon at noon and choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Visit the church’s website at or call the church at 802-365-4079 for further information.
