Two women arrested with 3 pounds of pot
BELLOWS FALLS -- Two woman, one from Michigan and the other from New Hampshire, were arrested in Bellows Falls following a traffic stop on the Williams Street Extension.
According to a press release from the Bellows Falls Police Department, the stop was conducted at approximately 7:20 p.m. Following a search of the vehicle, police discovered three pounds of marijuana and a number of prescription pills.
Police found the marijuana packaged in freezer bags. The police department believes the marijuana was being delivered for distribution in the Bellows Falls area.
Amber May Parson, of Jackson, Mich., was arrested and cited with two counts of possession of a controlled drug and one count of attempting to dispense marijuana. Ashely Buffum, of Langdon, N.H., was arrested and cited with possession of marijuana. Both were ordered to appear in court on May 22.
-- On May 20, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Following an investigation, Dennis Munhall, 42, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with driving under the influence and violation of the conditions of his release. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On May 21, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the Exit 3 Roundabout for the report of a vehicle in the bushes in the center of the rotary. Upon arrival, they learned Gregory Root, 38, of Newfane, was traveling south in a 1997 Chevrolet S10 when he lost his brakes. To avoid a collision, Root drove his truck up into the center. There were no injuries reported, though one sign was damaged.
-- On May 21, the Windham County Sheriff's Department arrested Daniel King Jr., 32, of Spofford, N.H., on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a status conference. He was taken into custody and later appeared in court.
-- On May 22, the Windham County Sheriff's Department arrested Mary Graves, 29, of Bellows Falls, on a warrant for failure to appear in court for an arraignment. She was taken into custody and later was released on bail.
