Union Service to be held Sunday at First Congregational in W. Brattleboro

WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Aug. 31 is the 12th Sunday after Pentecost at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Sunday worship at 10 a.m. in West Brattleboro is a Union Service with Guilford Community and Centre Congregational churches. Pastor Joseph Amico will share a sermon entitled "Love Reaches for the Common Good in the Church" with scripture from Romans 12:9-21.

Organist, Robert Popple will share a prelude of "Toccato in D-Moll" by J.S. Bach and a postlude of "My Savior First of All" arr. by Lenny Seidel. A combined choir under the direction of Steven Rice will perform two pieces, "Give Me Jesus," an African American spiritual arr. by Steve Rice, and an offertory piece, "Grace" by Carolyn Hamlin.

Congregational hymns this week include "Your Ways Are Not Our Own," "I Come With Joy" and "I Would Be True."
