Gallery Walk Sampling

Come stop by and enjoy free samples throughout the Brattleboro Food Co-op during Gallery Walk. Friday, March 4, 5-6:30 p.m., Free, In the Store.

Class: Sugar

Discover how to satisfy your sweet tooth with delicious and local sweeteners, as well as making substitutes for your sugary favorites. The average American now consumes as much as 150 pounds of refined sugar each year. We will discuss the refining process, as well as land-use issues, environmental impact, and disease. Taught by Robin Matathias, who teaches Environmental Studies at Keene State College. Saturday, March 5, 1-3pm, in the Co-op Community Room. Free, Pre-Registration required.

Cheese Sampling

Brattleboro: Try free samples and learn about different families of cheeses with the Brattleboro Food Co-op Cheese Department. Sunday, March 6, 2-4 p.m. Free, In the Store.

Make Your Own Lip Balm

Learn about to make lip balm from scratch. Each participant will get to bring home a tube and a tin of lip balm in a flavor they choose. Thursday, March 10, 3:30-5 p.m. in the Co-op Community Room. Cost is $5 for Co-op shareholders, $7 for non-shareholders. Registration required.

Free Wine & Appetizers

Come sample wines from the Brattleboro Food Co-op selection, paired with appetizers. Free to patrons over 21 with a valid ID. Friday, March 11, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Class: Overfishing and Sea Vegetables

Learn how to make sustainable choices when it comes to fish, and discover the pros and cons of aquaculture. Learn about the many health benefits of consuming sea vegetables, and taste some easy ways to incorporate them into your diet. Taught by Robin Matathias, who teaches Environmental Studies at Keene State College, on Saturday, March 12, 1-3 p.m, in the Co-op Community Room. Free, Pre-registration required.

Kids Cooking Class

We'll make the classic Greek dish "spanikopita", paired with a beet tzadziki, which is an herbed yogurt sauce featuring the Harvest of the Month: Beets. Wednesday, March 16, 3:30-5 p.m, at the Co-op Cooking Classroom. Free, Pre-registration required.

Tasting: Vermont Yogurt Co.

Stop by and meet the fine folks, and taste their delicious yogurt straight from their Jersey cows in Orwell, Thursday, March 17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Free, at the Brattleboro Food Co-op.
