UVM seeks to expand international students

Posted
BURLINGTON (AP) - The University of Vermont is hoping to diversify its student body by working with an organization UVM says is a global leader in international student education and recruitment.

UVM's agreement with Study Group is expected to triple number of international undergraduate students from the current level of 1.8 percent of the student body within four to five years.

The first group of 50 international students recruited through cooperation with Study Group is expected next January.

UVM says Study Group has academic preparation programs and a recruiting network that extends to more than 130 countries. UVM president Tom Sullivan says diversifying the school will enhance the quality of the UVM experience for all members of the UVM community.
