Vermont Academy girls win 15 games

BRATTLEBORO >> The Vermont Academy varsity girls basketball team went 15-12, ending with a 54-46 loss to Bradford Christian Academy in a NESPSAC Class D semifinal.

The Wildcats were coached by Karen Henry and assistant Margot Phelan. Area players on the team included Cara Linder and Juliane Liebow of Townshend, Brattleboro's Syd Henry, Guilford's Allie Buckley, Dummerston's Ani Kapral, Kyra Rideout of Hinsdale, N.H., and Allysun Erunski of West Chesterfield, N.H.

Erunski and Rideout both earned all-NEPSAC honors. Erunski, Rideout, Liebow and Linder all averaged double digits in scoring.

The Vermont Academy varsity boys basketball team defeated Cushing 69-61 for the program's first ever NEPSAC championship. Logan Cota, of Bellows Falls, was a member of the VA team.
