Vermont artists open studios to public


MONTPELIER (AP) - Vermont artists and craftspeople will open their studios to the public this weekend.

Organizers say the Open Studio Weekend is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process. Visitors will get a chance to see the works of glassblowers, jewelers, printmakers, potters, furniture makers, weavers, ironworkers, painters, sculptors, quilt makers and wood carvers.

Some of the studios are only ever open to the public during this event.

A number of galleries also will host talks and special exhibits.

The Vermont Open Studio Guide is available at tourist information centers, galleries and studios. A map and directions to sites is also on the Vermont Crafts Council website at
