Vermont deputy commerce secretary steps up to top job

MONTPELIER >> Vermont's deputy commerce secretary will be stepping up to the top job in the Agency of Commerce and Community Development.

Deputy Secretary Lucy Leriche will succeed outgoing Secretary Patricia Moulton, who is leaving the post next month to become interim president of Vermont Technical College.

The appointment was announced Wednesday by Gov. Peter Shumlin.

Leriche has served as deputy secretary for four years. She has been active in business recruitment and retention, expanding housing and strengthening downtowns and community centers across the state. She's also worked to strengthen tourism and marketing of Vermont across the globe.

Shumlin says Leriche has worked to create and retain jobs, expand housing and strengthen downtowns and community centers across the state while strengthening tourism and marketing of Vermont across the globe.
