Vermont Foodbank and Red Kite Candy partner to fight hunger

BARRE — Followers of both the Vermont Foodbank and Red Kite Candy will be busy working on their best caramel ideas in hopes of being voted the winner of Candy Lab, a partnership between these organizations that will raise much-needed funds for the Foodbank's holiday season. The contest winner will be featured alongside the Vermont Foodbank on special custom packaging as the creator of this special edition caramel. This candy will be available for sale for a limited time in December, with 100 percent of the profits going to the Foodbank.

"We are very excited to be teaming up with the Vermont Foodbank for our holiday edition of Candy Lab," said Elaine McCabe, founder of Red Kite Candy. "This is exactly the type of partnership we envisioned when we created Candy Lab. It's a really fun way to raise money and we can hardly wait to see what flavors our communities are able to come up with."

Candy Lab is a bi-monthly program of Red Kite Candy that raises funds for outstanding charitable organizations by engaging their communities in a fun contest to invent a new candy. The user-voted winning candy is made by Red Kite Candy and offered for sale for a limited period. One hundred percent of profits are donated to the charitable organization.
