Vermont GOP governor ready to launch campaign

BARRE (AP) - One of Vermont's Republican gubernatorial hopefuls is going to be formally launching his campaign.

Scott Milne is going to hold his official kickoff on Wednesday in Barre.

The event is going to be held at Barre's Aldrich Library at 11:15 a.m. The event will be followed by burgers for his supporters at the nearby Barre Elks Club.

Milne is one of three people seeking the Republican nomination to run for governor in November. The other GOP candidates are Emily Payton and Steve Berry.

Incumbent Gov. Peter Shumlin is facing a challenge in the Democratic primary from the little-known H. Brooke Paige.
