Vermont man admits to federal drug conspiracy charges

BURLINGTON, VT. >> A Richmond man has pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges for his role in the sale of heroin in Vermont from June to August 2015.

The Burlington Free Press reports 32-year-old Robert Robidoux entered the plea Thursday in Burlington federal court after cutting a deal with prosecutors.

Robidoux was arrested in January in connection with the drug ring. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three years. Sentencing guidelines call for a potential sentence of up to 20 years behind bars.

Under the terms of Robidoux's plea deal, the government agreed to file no other charges connected to the crimes already known to prosecutors. That bars prosecutors from presenting additional evidence during sentencing that shows death or serious injury resulted from Robidoux's heroin distribution.
