Vermont National Guard: No hunting on mountain base
The guard says hunters have been seen in recent days on the grounds of the facility, located in the towns of Jericho, Underhill and Bolton in eastern Chittenden County.
Live fire and maneuver training are scheduled in these areas all year long and hunting and fishing in these areas can threaten the lives and safety of civilians and military personnel.
Hunters could also potentially mistake soldiers for game because soldiers do not wear bright colors as hunters are encouraged to do.
