Vermont police: 911 service working again after outage

MONTPELIER (AP) - Vermont State Police say people who need to dial 911 can do so after a statewide outage blocked calls for nearly 40 minutes.

David Tucker, executive director of the state's Enhanced 911 Board said early Wednesday afternoon that the system was back up. It was down from 12:18 p.m. to 12:55 p.m.

It was not immediately known what caused the problem.
