Vermont State Police investigating death of Marble Valley inmate
RUTLAND>> Vermont State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Marble Valley Correctional Facility Sunday morning.
The initial investigation indicated that Victor R. Bora, 52, of Brandon, killed himself while in his cell, according to a press release from the Vermont State Police. Bora was found in his cell at approximately 8 a.m. Sunday and appeared to have hanged himself, police said.
He was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The assistant medical examiner was summoned and an autopsy was been ordered. Bora's next of kin were also notified, according to authorities.
No evidence was found to indicate foul play. Police said the official cause and manner of death are pending completion of the autopsy.
According to the Rutland Herald, Bora was facing charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, sexual assault, resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, unlawful mischief and disorderly conduct after being arrested by local authorities on Dec. 11.
