Vermont State Police to hold Rutland training exercise

RUTLAND (AP) - Vermont State Police troopers say there will be a large police presence in downtown Rutland during a training exercise.

The Friday exercise will be held from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the area of Merchants Row and Evelyn Street.

These exercises will primarily take place inside the building located next to the Chamber of Commerce, as well as old Community College of Vermont building on Evelyn Street.

Police emphasize it is going to be strictly a training exercise and the public should be aware of the possibility there will be a larger than average number of troopers in the area during the training.
