Washers get past GSP Coatings

BRATTLEBORO -- Chris Dixon made some clean jumpers to grab 16 points and lead Vt. Pressure Wash as they squeaked out a 57-52 win over GSP Coatings, last week in game 1 of men’s Division 3 hoops action, played at Gibson-Aiken Center.

Mike Dixon shot just behind Chris with 15, while Colby Bonnette chipped in 10 points. Jon Wong (6 points) and John Sessions (4) pitched in as well.

UNFI 84,
Community H.S. of Vt. 71

BRATTLEBORO -- Scott Edwards showed everyone who was boss with 27 points (five 3’s, five 2-pointers, two free throws) to carry the UNFI team to a Div. 3 victory over Community High School of Vermont (CHSV), last week.

Dave Nelson, Chris French, and David Rennick all scored 11 points apiece, while Steven Rennick put together 9 points, mostly under the hoop. Brett Eastman (7) and Brent Hall (6) chipped in for the W.

Zane Bullins put away 20 points to keep his CHSV team in the game. Greg Hecht got 18 points with some decent short shooting, and Danial Santos managed 17. Adam Smith had 7, and Peter Schor had 5 points.

Basketball Joes 85,
GSP Coatings 75

BRATTLEBORO -- Adam Bernier-Sontag, with 18 points, and Peter Wagner, with 17 points, carried Basketball Joes to a victory over GSP, Sunday.

The deadly duo were supported on the offense by Richard Doody (11 points), Dan Sontag, Jake Hoak, Michael Fuller, and Matt Mann, who each added 8 points to the scoreboard.

WB Maintenance 80,
The Marina 58

BRATTLEBORO -- In game 2, WB walloped The Marina, with Kenny Howe scoring 25 points, and Jeremy Warner putting up 24 on the afternoon.

Most of the other players on the team made big contributions as well: David Borys (18 points) and Keith Lyman (14). Dave Cunningham had 7 points.

Luke Overman (four 3’s) led The Marina with 20 points. Travis O’Deane and Jared Carelson each put together 9 points for the cause, and Justin Mcallister managed 7 points.

DMI 96,
Brattleboro Subaru Ford 85

BRATTLEBORO -- In Division 2, DMI’s Dan Donaghue crushed all competition by scoring 36 points in a victory over Brattleboro Subaru Ford, on Sunday.

Marshall Gilbert paved the way with 17 points, Lance Cutler added 14, manager Ryan Powers went home with 13, and Todd Roach had 12 points. Cutler and Roach each had a pair from downtown.

Perra Law 86,
Deerhill Inn / Fat City 48

BRATTLEBORO -- Jarrod James threw down 24 points, including a trio of 3’s, to help the Perra Law team to a win over Deerhill Inn / Fat City.

Dan Braden put together 18 points, Brad Venice had 17, Rich Perra made 8, Jamie Garfield had 7, and Evan Chadwick and Matt Rink had 6 apiece.

Josh Bartholomew scored 20 points, Nate Gleason had 10, and Gary Castle added 7 to the Deerhill cause.

Walker Farm 63, UNFI 61

BRATTLEBORO -- In other Div. 3 play, top scorers Robby Gesnic (19), Pete Stickney (16), Rich Korson (11) combined to give Walker Farm the win over UNFI on Sunday.
Gesnic’s contribution included a trio of 3’s.

Scott Edwards led the UNFI team with 15 points, while Chris French managed 11, and Jeff Ward made 10 (two 3’s).

GSP 53, Rice Appraisal 50

BRATTLEBORO -- Eric Fellows, with 13 points, led GSP to a win over Rice Appraisal, Sunday. Teammates Tim Barbour (12 points) and Chris Worden (10) also helped contribute to the win.

Rice’s Patrick Lallo threw 14 points on the board to lead the team in goals. Larry Alper managed 7 points, and Steve Kapnal, Rich Carrol, and Brian Mueller scored 6 points each.
