Wildcats fall to 8-1

WILMINGTON >> The Twin Valley varsity boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Arlington 2-0.

Will Stewart scored 23 minutes in to give the Eagles the lead. Jared Lacoste added an insurance goal 32 minutes later.

Bailey Cross made 14 saves to earn the shutout. Logan Boyd stopped four shots for Twin Valley, which dropped to 8-1 overall.

Cross Country

Stephen Borst, a freshman at St. Michael High School who trains and travels with the Brattleboro Union High School cross-country team, placed 16th in a time of 20:38 in Tuesday's race on East Orchard Street.

CRVSL

In recent Connecticut River Valley Soccer League action, Ozzie Van Hendric tallied twice in Brattleboro's 5-0 victory over Mount Hermon in a U-13 contest. Abby Towle, Magnus von Krusensteirn, Anna Hibbard and Ryder Sullivan did the damage for Brattleboro's A Team in a 4-1 decision over Sunderland. Henry Pennell, Ryan Pierce and Cynthia Velazquez all split the posts as Brattleboro topped West County 5-1 in a U11 showdown.
