Windham Regional Commission to host energy forums

Posted
TOWNSHEND — The Windham Regional Commission is seeking public comments as it develops a regional energy plan. Four public meetings in December and January have been scheduled to accept public comments. The meetings will be an opportunity for the public to come and learn about why the WRC is creating a regional energy plan, what information is included in those plans, and what that means for towns. The attendees will be invited to express comments on the draft plan and, more broadly, on energy planning in our region.

The draft plan was developed with guidance from the Department of Public Service and the three regional planning commissions that have completed their energy plans.

The meetings will be held:      Monday, Dec. 4, and Monday, Jan. 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Townshend Town Hall; Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dover Town Hall; and Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Jamaica Town Hall.

The draft plan and background information can be found at www.windhamregional.org/energy/act-174-energy-planning.
