Jennie Powers was a force to be reckoned with. She was a crusader against animal cruelty, family violence, and the poverty that sometimes spawns it. Her role as Keene, NH Humane Society Deputy Sheriff (1903 - 1936) earned her the title of "The Woman Who Dares" from the Boston Post in 1906. Presented by Jennifer Carroll of Cheshire County Historical Society, this is a NH Humanities to Go Program. This presentation will be presented virtually via Zoom. Register on the Chesterfield NH Historical Society Website.
