Don't miss the big stories. Like us on Facebook.

I have written the Mindful Moment column for five or six months now. I do not get paid for it. It is my drop in the bucket for community life. I think.

Here is the deal — I have no idea how many people value the column or whether it is a major effort on my part with a marginal meaningful end.

If you value the column, I am inviting you to support my efforts for the Brattleboro Boys and Girls Club. They are having a fundraising bike ride on Sept. 17. I need to raise $300. The funds help the club make their programs available for kids who might not be able to afford them. I think that a worthy cause.

If you are so moved, please write a check written out to the Brattleboro Boys and Girls Club and send it to Trinity Lutheran Church, 161 Western Ave. Brattleboro, Vermont 05301.

If you are not inclined to write a check, that is fine. No sweat.

Please consider dropping me an email to say – “Keep the Mindful Moment Going!” or something of that sort. It will give me a little boost that the column is worth it. Jonathanheydenreich6@gmail.com.

Be mindful — our kindness and consideration make a difference.

Jon Heydenreich is pastor at Brattleboro’s Trinity Lutheran Church.
