BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Rotary Club recently inducted Brattleboro resident Carl Lynde as its 71st club president for 2020-2021. Rotary club members serving as officers with Lynde this year are President-Elect Phil George, Secretary Regina Stefanelli, Treasurer Rhonda Calhoun, Vice President Roger Allbee, and Immediate Past President Carla Lineback. Lynde has been active in the Brattleboro Rotary Club since 1989; participating in Rotary's many community projects. "Being a Rotarian offers members a wide variety of local, regional and international volunteer activity such that an individual can tailor to their interest and time," Lynde said, "The fellowship experience at regular meetings has been very rewarding." "And, the speakers at our weekly club meetings range from local nonprofits to an international war crime judge to an OPEC speechwriter," Lynde added. Lynde is a Senior Vice President TD Bank with over 45 years of banking experience. He joined TD Bank in 1984 as an Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lender. He is now a Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, providing financing, treasury, and banking solutions to commercial clients throughout southern Vermont. He received the 2018 "Outstanding Community Service Banker Award" from the Vermont Bankers Association. He is a Past President of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce, a board member for Building a Better Brattleboro, member of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC), including on the Board of Trustees from 1992-2015 and Board President for three of those years. Lynde has served on the boards for the Winston Prouty Center, Thompson House, and Brattleboro Union High School district. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for more than 10 years, including as Board Chairman. Carl is a graduate of Nathaniel Hawthorne College. He lives with his fianc e Pam Matweecha in Brattleboro. He has two sons, a daughter in law, two stepdaughters, and five grandchildren.
