Editor of the Reformer:

This thank you is way overdue, almost one year overdue. I waited this long because I was not sure what this year would bring the Bedard family!! The year 2019 was quite difficult for us. Bill was having an extremely bad time keeping his balance due to MS, subsequently resulting in many falls. Unfortunately I could not get him to his feet, hence numerous phone calls to the Brattleboro Fire Department. They were here within minutes without fanfare, helped Bill up, checked for injuries, stayed with us until they were sure he was OK. The BFD did this at least once or twice a month from January through September. So many young men helped him, checked his vital signs and treated him with utmost respect and were very professional. I wish I could remember all their names but they will know who they are if they see this!! I would like to let them to know since last September, no falls. Things were changed by his doctors and he is doing great.

I don’t know what we would have done without them, truly a wonderful bunch of guys. Chief Buccossi must be so proud of them. Bill and I will never take our firefighters in Brattleboro for granted. They are well trained, polite professionals that we will be eternally grateful for. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love you, Brattleboro is very lucky.
