Editor of the Reformer,
As a resident of Guilford, a teacher at Guilford Central School, and a parent of two young children, I am writing to express my strong support for Sara Coffey as our next state representative for Guilford and Vernon.
As a community member, Sara has already been working hard on behalf of our schools. Sara has attended school board meetings in both Vernon and Guilford to better understand the issues facing each community. She has worked to understand the complexities of Act 46, a law that was adopted in 2015. Vernon and Guilford are in different situations with regard to Act 46 and Sara's efforts have shown that she is committed to working with both towns to ensure that the needs of both schools are met.
Sara is committed to efforts that invest in high quality public education, including funding and policies that provide more affordable options for early childhood education. There is no doubt that Sara will support innovation in our schools and help find creative solutions and flexible approaches to managing change, something that will help ensure our schools can continue to be important centers of our communities.
I urge residents of Guilford and Vernon to vote for Sara Coffey for state representative.
