Editor of the Reformer,
A huge thank you to the cast of Bloomsday in Brattleboro and to BCTV for bringing this live online event — celebrating James Joyce's classic novel Ulysses — possible. You all did a magnificent job rising to the challenge of presenting excerpts from Ulysses in a convincing manner that stayed true to Joyce's brilliant but often daunting work. Brian Bashaw of BCTV's assistance with the complex technology involved was invaluable.
I have been fascinated with Ulysses for a very long time but I never dreamed I would be able to see it come to life in such a unique manner. It was an exciting ride! I thank all of you for digging deep throughout the process to make the show successful!
By the time next Bloomsday rolls around (June 16, 2021) let us hope we can do it in person with a live audience in the Hooker-Dunham!
The show will be broadcast on BCTV and can now be found on YouTube by searching on its title, Bloomsday in Brattleboro 2020.
In these difficult times, we need our culture! Art sustains us and gives us hope!
Deepest thanks to all the cast for making it happen:
