BRATTLEBORO — With Election Day approaching, Emma Graham was showing Donald Trump and Joe Biden how it’s done.

The Bellows Falls senior, who had a hat-trick during her team’s soccer victory over Twin Valley, received 174 votes to earn Brattleboro Reformer Athlete of the Week honors for Oct. 18-24.

“Sweet game Emma,” Dan Brophy jotted down on his online ballot.

Graham, quarterback Grady Lockerby, field hockey player Maya Waryas and cross-country runner Abby Broadley are now in the running for one of the Marina’s $25 athlete of the season prizes.

Kleay Steever

When the Hinsdale varsity girls soccer team zipped Mount Royal Academy 5-0 in the first round of the postseason, she powered the Lady Pacers’ attack with a hat-trick.

The kicker drilled a 25-yard field goal with 1.5 seconds left to give the Brattleboro touch football team a thrilling 34-31 win over Bellows Falls in Friday’s Hartford Region semifinal.

Grace Bazin

The junior tallied twice when the Bellows Falls varsity field hockey team defeated Champlain Valley Union 2-0 in Saturday’s Division 1 championship game.

Matt Emerson

He assisted on both goals when the Leland & Gray varsity boys soccer team beat Bellows Falls 2-0 in a Division 3 playoff game.

Kylie Reed

She scored in the first overtime to give the 14th-seeded Twin Valley varsity girls soccer team a 1-0 upset victory over No. 3 Blue Mountain in a Division 4 playoff game.
