HINSDALE, N.H. — Known as a rim protector on the court, Angelina Nardolillo was busy protecting her team's goal Thursday on the pitch.

The senior keeper made four saves for a shutout as the Hinsdale varsity girls soccer team trumped visiting Monadnock 7-0.

"She makes a lot of big saves for us," said Pacers coach Sam Kilelee. "She is vocal back there."

The back line of Olivia Pangelinan, Hailey Tripaldi, Madison Hughes, Addy Nardolillo and Kloe Valladares limited the Huskies to four shots. With Monadnock's Trista Faulkner often threatening and dishing to Emma Toscano, the hosts got some huge interceptions from Pangelinan and Hughes.

"Spread out," screamed senior Kristin Davis, who spent the afternoon chasing down Monadnock attackers and crossing the ball to teammates.

"She plays hard all the time," noted Kilelee.

Kleay Steever, who has a team-high eight goals on the season, powered the Lady Pacers with a hat trick. She put away the game winner just 2:24 in, as her shot was mishandled by visiting goalie Emma Loudermilk and ended up in the back of the net.

"She has been our leading scorer for the past three years," said Kilelee, adding that Steever also scored three goals in the first meeting with Monadnock.

Megan Roberts, Audrey Martin, Brooke Pagach and Wilcox also scored for Hinsdale. Davis added an assist.

Addy Nardolillo made a couple of impressive defensive plays in the second half. She hustled back to strip Addison Dubriske and later stole the ball from Breann Lawrence.

The Hinsdale goalie — best known for scoring 1,000 points and leading her school to a state basketball title — charged out a handful of times to snag lead passes. She also denied three shots by Toscano and another from Julia Hoden.

The 2-3 Lady Pacers will play at Monadnock on Saturday.
