NORTHFIELD, Mass. — The Northfield Mount Hermon varsity girls basketball team finished up with a 9-15 record after losing to top-seeded Noble and Greenough 69-27 in a Class AA playoff game on March 4.
Angelina Nardolillo, who transferred to NMH after helping Hinsdale to consecutive Division 4 finals appearances, scored 15 points to pace the Hoggers during a 63-21 win over the Williams College JV squad on Feb. 12. Three days later, the junior netted nine points in her team's 55-30 victory over Choate Rosemary Hall.
As a sophomore, Nardolillo erupted for 22 points during a playoff game at "the Stable" to reach the 1,000-point milestone. She joined Gary Beaman, Sleepy Brooks, Steve Deschenes, Jason Dillon, Joe Sarsfield, Michael Kerylow, Larry Scott, Allison Scott, Julie Messenger, Matt Boggio, Skylar Bonnette and Skyler LeClair as the only Hinsdale players to ever reach the milestone.
"Angelina is noticed for what she does at one end of the floor, but what she does for us in the middle of our zone often gets overlooked. She is a cinder block in there. She changes shots and blocks shots. She is the anchor of our defense," stated Hinsdale coach Terry Bonnette after the Lady Pacers defeated Littleton 32-30 in the 2018 state championship game.
Nardolillo had a double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds) and also rejected four shots in that thriller. She racked up 11 points and a dozen boards in a 42-31 loss to Littleton in the 2019 title tilt.
