1st BUHS football practice is Aug. 14

BRATTLEBORO — Any Brattleboro Union High School student entering grades 9-12 who is interested in playing football this fall should go to BUHS on Aug. 13 to pick up their equipment. Seniors will go first at 11:30 a.m., followed by the juniors at 12:30 p.m., the sophomores at 1:30 p.m. and the freshmen at 2:30 p.m.

There will be a parent and player meeting with the coaching staff at 5 that night in the BUHS Multipurpose room. Coach Chad Pacheco asks that every player attends the meeting with at least one parent as there will be a lot of important information given out.

The first practice will be held on Aug. 14.

The Colonels will open up at Rutland on Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. The rest of their schedule looks like this: Sept. 8 — at Bellows Falls at 7 p.m., Sept. 15 — host Mount Mansfield at 7 p.m., Sept. 23 — host Burlington at 3 p.m., Sept. 29 — at Hartford at 7 p.m., Oct. 6 — host Saint Johnsbury at 7 p.m., Oct. 13 — host MAU at 7 p.m., and Oct. 20 — at Colchester at 7 p.m.

Brattleboro went 4-5 last fall, with victories coming against Middlebury, South Burlington, rival MAU, and BFA-Saint Albans. The team with the "Win the Day" motto scored 171 total points and gave up 181 on the season.
