5 nominated for athlete of the week

BRATTLEBORO — The Bellows Falls varsity field hockey team, which has won three consecutive state championships, is on an impressive 42-game winning streak.

The Terriers are one of several unbeaten teams in the area, joining the Twin Valley boys and girls booters, the Leland & Gray boys soccer team, the Brattleboro stickers, and a couple of other squads in Westminster — the Purple Gang and the Bellows Falls girls cross-country team.

Three athlete of the week nominees are members of a team that is off to a perfect start. The other two have just been on fire in the early going.
