7 area runners are all stars

BRATTLEBORO — After leading the Bellows Falls varsity girls to a Division 3 state championship, Abby Broadley, Stephanie Ager and Victoria Bassette were all named to the Southern Vermont League A Division's First Team for cross country.

Broadley won her second consecutive individual state title in a time of 19:39 on Oct. 26 in Thetford. Ager placed fifth and Bassette took the 14th position in that race.

Four area boys were also named to the A Division First Team, including Finn LaMorder, Bram Tabachnick, Tim Salter-Roy and Collin Robertson.

LaMorder finished 36th and Tabachnick 38th to pace Brattleboro in the Division 1 state meet. Salter-Roy (9th) and Robertson (13th) helped Bellows Falls to a bronze medal in the Division 3 race.

A Division Boys Team: Brattleboro — Finn LaMorder, Bram Tabachnick. Bellows Falls — Collin Robertson, Tim Salter-Roy. Woodstock — Riley Shepherd, Mateo Bongo, Owen Coates, Calef Hepler. Thetford — Tad Darrah, Eamon Deffner, Tobin Durham. Rutland — Brady Geisler.

A Division Girls Team: Bellows Falls — Stephanie Ager, Victoria Bassette, Abby Broadley. Burr and Burton — Lily Birch, Maggie Brown, Grace Cabasco, Liara Foley. Thetford — Madelyn Durkee. Rutland — Rosanna Hyde. Mount Anthony Union — Maggie Payne, Sarah Umphlett.

B Division Boys Team: Windsor — Owen Abrahamsen. Hartford — Paul Carol, John Kasten, Aaron Mitchell, Zack Snyder. Otter Valley — Joseph Cijka, Liam Murphy, Parker Todd. Mill River — Brogan Griffin. Sharon — Desmond Piccicuto.

B Division Girls Team: Green Mountain — Olivia Bernier, Laurel King. Hartford — Kayla Burnham, Katie Trombley, Beatrice Wendling. Sharon — Sophie Chesnut, Charlotte Reimanis, Laila Reimanis. Mill River — Annika Heintz. Springfield — Anna Ondre.
