Auditions open for 'The Secret Garden'
Main Street Arts is holding auditions for its fall production of the musical "The Secret Garden" that will be performed October 25 through November 3 at the Bellows Falls Opera House.
Audition times at MSA in Saxtons River are Friday, May 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, May 18, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 19, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Those auditioning should bring a prepared song or part of a song of at least 16 bars. There will also be movement sections of the auditions. This ensemble will be much larger than is typical, with total cast size between 30 and 40. Those auditioning will also be asked to read from the text. The roles of the children (ages typically around 10 to 12) may be played by children a little older.
Information about the plot and the roles in the musical based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's Victorian classic can be found at https://stageagent.com/shows/musical/1435/the-secret-garden.
