Baconfest 5K Hog Jog Set for Sept. 9

GUILFORD — Lace up your running shoes because it's time for the Hog Jog at Baconfest.

The third annual 5K race will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9. The race kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Guilford Fairgrounds at 163 Fairground Road (off Weatherhead Hollow Road) and winds its way through the back roads of Guilford.

The top three men and women to cross the finish line will take home the coveted Golden Hog Trophy — affectionately known as the Golden Piggy. All racers will receive a "Will Run for Bacon" commemorative t-shirt.

The race will be professionally timed by 3C Race Productions, So, whether you're a serious or casual runner or enjoy family-friendly fun, this race is for you.

On-line registration is open at Entry fee is $15 in advance and $20 race day. Race day registration at the Guilford Fairgrounds begins at 8:15 a.m. and closes at 8:45 a.m.

The jog is sponsored by these local businesses: The Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce, Brattleboro Retreat, Brattleboro Subaru, Brattleboro Savings & Loan, Downs Rachlin Martin, New England Wireless/U.S. Cellular, River Valley Credit Union, Sam's Outdoor Outfitters, and WKVT.

The race is being held in conjunction with the third annual Brattleboro Baconfest — Bacon, Blues and Brews, which takes place on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at the Guilford Fairgrounds. Gates open at 11 a.m. Admission is free. The Brattleboro Baconfest is brought to you by WKVT radio.
