Airing this Sunday, July 8, at 4 p.m., the Bolshoi Ballet's 'Coppelia' bubbles with charm, wit and energy
Bolshoi Ballet Only in Cinemas continues its season of simulcasts at the Latchis Theatre with "Coppelia." o
The Bolshoi's unique version of Coppelia brings a fascinating reconstruction of the original 19th century choreography of this ebullient comedy involving a feisty heroine, a boyish finance with a wandering eye and an old dollmaker. The company's stunning corps de ballet shiens in the divertissements and famous "dance of the hours," and its principals abound in youthful energy and irresistible humor in this effervescent production.
Music by Leo Delibes, with choreography by Sergei Vikharev after Marius Petipa and Enrico Cecchetti.
Admission is $20, $10 for students. For questions or advance credit card purchases, contact Sharry Manning at 802-275-5717 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
