Bellows Falls teams sweep track meet


LANGDON, N.H. — The Bellows Falls girls and boys track teams each prevailed in a nine-school meet at Fall Mountain on Tuesday.

Gabe Hakimoglu won the 100 in 11.69 seconds and took the 200 in 24.73 seconds to lead the BF boys. Ryan Kelly added a victory in the high jump by clearing 5-6.

Freshman Breanna Stockman paced the BF girls, winning the shot put (23-3.25), discus (51-00) and javelin (70-11). Stephanie Ager dominated in the 800 and 1600, while Brigid Hodsen won the 100 hurdles and Jaden Luebbert finished first in the pole vault.

The Hinsdale girls ended up seventh overall with 15 points. Maggie St. John was the runner-up in the 3200 and Erica Girroir earned silver in the javelin.

Danny Roberts (discus) and Calvin Atkins (javelin) each placed third for the Hinsdale boys team.

Boys team scoring: Bellows Falls 155, Newport 111, Windsor 64, Fall Mountain 63, Thetford 57, Stevens 19, Sunapee 18, Hinsdale 17, Leaf Charter 8.

Girls team scoring: Bellows Falls 146, Fall Mountain 107.5, Thetford 82.5, Stevens 66, Newport 39, Sunapee 38, Hinsdale 15, Windsor 2.
