BF stickers voted Reformer Team of the Fall

BRATTLEBORO — Nobody could beat the Bellows Falls varsity field hockey team this fall, whether it was on the field or on the ballots.

The Terriers, who went 17-0 and won the Division 2 state championship, received 98 votes to earn Brattleboro Reformer Team of the Fall honors. Coach Bethany Coursen's prize is two free games of bowling at Brattleboro Bowl.

The BF stickers outscored their opponents by a combined 93-4 during the regular season. Abbe Cravinho racked up 20 goals and 20 assists, Molly Kelly followed with 17 tallies and 15 helpers, Reaghan Baldasaro added 14 and 15, and Dani Marchica scored a team-best 25 times.

Goalies Emma Lober and Kylie Comstock teamed up for three postseason shutouts as the Terriers zipped Middlebury, Burr and Burton, and Spaulding in the tournament. Cravinho went off for four goals and four assists in the playoffs, while coach Coursen noted that defender Halle Dickerson and link Michelle Marchica were standouts in the title tilt.

Bellows Falls has won three consecutive state championships and a remarkable 40 games in a row.
