BF's Lockerby pleased with attitude, pitching

BRATTLEBORO — The Bellows Falls varsity baseball team will play host often right out of the gate, welcoming Mill River, Brattleboro, MAU and then Leland & Gray to begin the season.

The Terriers went 5-12 last year, ending with a 7-1 loss to Lake Region in a playoff game.

"We have the potential to be a very competitive team in the MVL as well as Division 2. I really like the attitude so far as well as having pitching from all four classes," stated veteran BF coach Bob Lockerby.

Juniors McGregor Vancor and Griff Waryas helped the Post 37 Legion baseball team to a No. 3 seed in the Southern Division for last summer's state tournament. Vancor batted .393 during that season, with 23 hits and 19 runs scored, while Waryas had a .324 average.

Returning pitcher Jack Brown was a member of the Post 37 staff that had a team Earned Run Average of 2.57.
