Blue Devils deny Wildcats in semifinal
BARRE — Heith Mason had a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) to propel No. 2 Poultney to a 46-42 victory over third-seeded Twin Valley in a Division 4 boys basketball semifinal on Wednesday night at "the Aud."
The Wildcats, who took a 16-9 lead to the intermission, got a game-high 20 points from Jack McHale. Izaak Park followed with 12 points.
Twin Valley finishes the season with a 16-7 record, including playoff victories over Mid-Vermont Christian and Rivendell. Poultney will take on top-ranked Danville in Saturday's state championship game.
WINDSOR — The Vermont Basketball Coaches Association has announced the Dream Dozen girls' teams, which are their picks as the best 24 underclassmen in the state. BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Little League will be holding six registration sessions at the American Legion, including March 19-21 and March 26-28, from 4:30-6 p.m. each day. The baseball league is open to ages 9-12. All players, new and returning, must register. Each child must bring their original birth certificate or passport and the $60 player fee to the registration.
