BMH welcomes new clinicians

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Memorial Hospital recently welcomed three new clinicians to the medical group. John Cope, MD, FACS joins Brattleboro General Surgery as a surgeon; Emily Grose, MN, CMN joins Brattleboro OB/GYN as a nurse midwife; and Briana Gwaltney, MSN, FNP-BC joins BMH Urology as a nurse practitioner.

"We are pleased to welcome Dr. Cope, Emily, and Briana to the BMH Medical Group," said Steven R. Gordon, BMH president and CEO. "Each will be a great addition to their respective practice, and their skills and talents will allow us to expand access to high-quality care in our community."

Cope joins BMH most recently from Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed residencies with both Baystate Medical Center and Hartford Hospital. Cope has a special interest in colorectal cancer screenings, particularly colonoscopies. Grose has recently relocated to the Brattleboro area from Minnesota where she previously served as certified nurse-midwife with Southdale OB/GYN in Edina. She received her Bachelor of Arts in gender studies and political science from the University of Connecticut, magna cum laude. Additionally, she received both her Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University. Gwaltney recently relocated to the Brattleboro area from Florida where she was previously employed with Florida Hospital in East Orlando. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Adventist University of Health Sciences, cum laude, and her Master of Science in nursing with high honors from South University.
