Bookstravaganza starts Wednesday at Winston Prouty

BRATTLEBORO — The Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development has hundreds - perhaps thousands - of books that need new homes. The public is invited to the book giveaway, Bookstravaganza, on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place in Vermont Hall on the Winston Prouty Campus, 209 Austine Drive.

The collection of books to give away originated from many places: the library that was part of the now-closed Austine School, the Windham Child Care Association's early educator resource library, the Early Learning Express bookmobile's circulation and from the Winston Prouty Early Learning Center's many years of operation.

There will be books of all types and for all audiences from early childhood through adult.

All books are free or by donation. Any donations made will support the Early Learning Express bookmobile which brings literacy activities, educator resources and a lending library to home-and center-based early care and education programs and other community locations throughout Windham County.
