Brattleboro Area Jewish Community dedicates new ark


The Brattleboro Area Jewish Community (BAJC) will be dedicating a new Ark during their celebration of Rosh

Hoshana which ushers in the New Year of 5776 on the Hebrew Calendar. The service will be held on Sunday evening, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at the West Village Meeting House in Brattleboro.

BAJC President, Daniel Kasnitz explains; "The Ark is a custom cabinet that holds a copy of the Torah for use during specific Jewish religious services. We decided to commission a new Ark to be in residence at the facility. We are dedicating this wonderful work of sacred art to our beloved, long-term members Faith and Abe Schuster. The Ark was made by master artisan Jason Breen." BAJC's Rosh Hoshana service is open to the public, and all are invited The evening will conclude with a pot-luck dessert.
