BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Union High School varsity baseball team lost its third consecutive game, falling 4-2 to Keene on Thursday at Natowich Field.

"We walked six batters, hit another three and misplayed a couple of balls. Ultimately, those are the things that killed us," said BUHS skipper Chris Groeger.

Trailing 2-0, the hosts pulled even on Hunter Beebe's two-run double in the third inning. Keene then took the lead for good with a pair of runs in the fourth.

Adam Newton had two hits to pace the purple and white offensively. Tyler Millerick, Evan Finnell and Beebe all had one hit for the Colonels, who outhit the visitors 5-3.

Alex Kendall (1 K, 5 BB, 2 hits) started and lasted four frames for the 6-4 Colonels. Zinabu McNeice allowed just one hit in three innings of relief.

Brattleboro will play at Windsor on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Brenden Gilbeau will start on the hill for Groeger's Gang.
