Brattleboro field hockey team zips MAU

BRATTLEBORO — Natalya Forkin made a dozen stops, including a huge save on a penalty stroke, as the Brattleboro Union High School varsity field hockey team blanked rival Mount Anthony Union 2-0 on Wednesday at Tenney Field.

Kalin Noble and Gracie Frost each scored in the first half for the Colonels, who finished with eight shots on goal.

"Kalin took the ball from around the 50 on a breakaway and scored. Gracie's goal was on a scramble in front of the MAU goalie," said BUHS co-coach Sherryl Libardoni, who noted that Avalon Johnson and Makenna Severance also played well.

The 4-2-1 Colonels will play at undefeated Bellows Falls on Friday at 4 p.m.
