Brattleboro nursing home residents received a treat

Posted
BRATTLEBORO — Round Room LLC, the nation's largest Verizon authorized wireless retailer, announced that more than 500 of its TCC stores donated 3,000 care kits to senior living communities across the U.S. in honor of National Nursing Home Week, which took place May 13-19.

Each participating TCC store partnered with a local nursing home to provide residents with care kits - valued at $50 each - filled with adult crosswords, coloring and Sudoku puzzle books, colored pencils, sketch pads, playing cards, tissues and more. Each kit is intended to help nursing home residents exercise their minds and creativity in different ways. In Brattleboro, TCC donated to The Gathering Place.

"We want our senior citizens in our communities to know we respect and appreciate them, and sharing these care kits is one way we can do that," said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room, parent company of TCC. "We believe it's equally as important for senior citizens to stimulate their minds as it is to remain physically active. We are proud we can celebrate National Nursing Home Week with our local senior communities."
