Brattleboro teams sweep home track meet

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro's Evan Koch won the 800, 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and the high jump to lead the Colonels in Friday's meet at the Freeman track.

Also prevailing for the BUHS boys were Max King (100), Jackson Buettner (triple jump) and Miguel Ramirez (pole vault). Trevor Hobbs placed fourth in both hurdles races to pace Hinsdale.

Brattleboro won the boys team event with 118.5 points and was followed by Keene, Monadnock, Newport, Green Mountain and Hinsdale. The hosts also ran away in the girls team scoring, racking up 162 points to beat runner-up Newport, Monadnock, Green Mountain and Hinsdale.

Maggie Lonardo won the 100, 200 and long jump to power the Brattleboro girls. She also teamed up with Dory Abdallah, Alina Secrest and Isabella Lonardo for a gold medal in the 4x100 relay race.

Also finishing first for the Colonels were Sylvie Normandeau (400 and pole vault), Sarah Gallagher (800 and 3000) and Olivia Ortlieb (high jump). Hinsdale's Maggie St. John took the 1500 title in a time of 5:30.
