BrattleMasters plan meeting with summertime theme

Posted

BRATTLEBORO — Edwin Sause of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts will be the emcee for the upcoming Toastmasters meeting at 6 p.m. this Thursday. The local Toastmasters club meets twice monthly on the second and fourth Thursdays in Room 245 at Vermont Technical College, 41 Harmony Place.

Sause says the "Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer" is the theme of this meeting when two speeches are scheduled. The public is also invited to hear a short, special presentation from the Toastmasters Area 15 Director, Linda Ramrath of Keene, N.H.

In addition to speeches and evaluations, Toastmaster members will give reports on the use of ahs, ums, you know, so and other filler words, grammar, keeping within time limits, and other aspects of the meeting. Free refreshments will be provided during a break in the 90-minute meeting. After the break, another Toastmaster will run a short exercise in "speaking off the cuff" available to everyone including guests.

BrattleMasters members hail from Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Toastmaster's membership exceeds 357,000 in more than 16,600 clubs in 143 countries.
