BUHS grads make All-Academic Team
BRATTLEBORO - Castleton University's spring athletics programs landed 40 student-athletes on the Little East Conference's Spring All-Academic Team. To be named, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.
Leading the way for the Spartans is the softball program, which has 12 student-athletes on the All-Academic Team. Junior Devin Millerick earned the accolade for the second year in a row.
Millerick, of Vernon, batted .316 in the six games that were played this spring. The outfielder has 65 hits, has scored 51 runs, has 28 RBI, and has swiped 22 bags in her college career.
For men's tennis, Spencer Butter made the All-Academic Team for a second consecutive season. In his only match this year, the Brattleboro resident defeated Johnson's Patrick Bell 7-6, 5-7, 10-8 at third singles.
